Elevate works with local organisations and communities to connect people who want to help with people who know what is needed. Our projects bring together local knowledge, humanitarian expertise, professional skills and practical resources to support locally identified priorities. We work through established relationships and trusted partners, helping individuals, organisations and professional groups find meaningful ways to contribute to humanitarian response, recovery and development.We do not seek to create parallel programs or impose solutions from outside.

We aim to complement existing efforts, strengthen local capacity and connect additional resources where they can add genuine value. Sometimes that means helping an organisation deploy a team in-country. Sometimes it means connecting a skilled professional with a local project, facilitating an introduction, or helping an organisation understand where its resources could be most useful. The projects we support vary according to context and need — because the right way to help starts with understanding what is already happening and where additional support can make a difference.

Nepal Supporting Recovery After Disaster

On 26 August 2026, a catastrophic debris avalanche and flash flood struck northern Nepal following the collapse of ice and rock in the Langtang region. The resulting debris flow travelled downstream through the Lhende Khola and wider river systems, causing extensive damage to communities, homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure.
The immediate response is being led by Nepalese authorities, local communities and organisations already operating on the ground. As the situation develops, attention will increasingly turn towards recovery, restoration and reconstruction. This is where Elevate can help. Connecting support with local priorities through our established country connections and relationships with partners already working in Nepal.

We are beginning to identify practical opportunities where additional people, skills and resources could support the recovery effort.
We expect these opportunities to develop as local needs are assessed. They may include activities such as:

• temporary or transitional shelter;
• school cleaning, repair and rebuilding;
• restoration of community facilities;
• debris and site clean-up;
• construction and repair;
• skilled trades and technical assistance;
• education and learning support; and
• other locally identified recovery priorities.

The projects will be shaped by what local organisations and communities need, rather than by what external supporters simply want to provide.
Our partners on the ground have the local knowledge, relationships and operational capability to help manage the practical realities of working in affected areas, including local coordination, transport, accommodation, food and water arrangements and other logistical requirements.

You may have a team of builders. A group of teachers. Engineers, electricians, plumbers or other skilled tradespeople. Professional expertise. Equipment. Organisational capacity. Or simply a strong desire to contribute.
You may already know exactly what you want to do — or you may have no idea where your skills could be most useful.
That’s okay. Tell us what you can offer and what you would like to contribute. We will work with our partners to understand whether there is an appropriate opportunity and, where possible, connect you with the people who can make it happen. Our involvement can be as much or as little as you need.
For some organisations, that may simply mean an introduction to the right local partner. For others, we may help facilitate a more involved engagement, including supporting the transition into Nepal and connecting your team with established local counterparts.
We are not there to take over the response, we are there to help strengthen it by connecting additional capability with locally identified need.

If you would prefer to provide financial assistance rather than skills or in-kind support, we encourage you to contribute through registered charities and established organisations already operating in Nepal.

We can help direct interested supporters towards organisations that have identified priority projects and are positioned to deliver assistance through established local mechanisms.

We encourage you to support the 2026 Nepal Debris Avalanche and Flash Flood: Protect, Prevent, Rebuild initiative led by Freedom in Disasters, in partnership with the Sunita Foundation and Nepalese counter-human trafficking organisations.

Elevate has previously worked with Freedom in Disasters and the Sunita Foundation, and we support their efforts to strengthen protection and reduce the risk of human trafficking and exploitation following disasters.

Funds raised through this initiative support locally identified prevention and protection activities, helping vulnerable communities navigate the increased risks that can arise during displacement, relief and reconstruction.
