Fiji 2026:
Place-Based Leadership & Resilience

Explore leadership and resilience in highland communities within a Pacific Island context, considering social, economic, and environmental interactions in a tourism-dependent and hazard-prone country.

This 10-day immersive program delves into the challenges faced by remote communities, including natural hazards, environmental variability, and economic dependencies. Participants will engage with local leaders, community members, and regional experts through workshops, field visits, and structured dialogues. The program emphasizes understanding local governance, gender dynamics, livelihoods, and resource stewardship, equipping participants with practical insights and skills for context-responsive leadership and sustainable community resilience.

Nepal November 2026:
Resilience & Justice

Explore the social consequences of natural disasters and the long-term ‘human cost’ of reduced economic opportunity.

This 10-day immersive program explores disaster recovery, social challenges and associated risks such as human trafficking in a country working towards the establishment of sustainable tourism. During the program, participants will engage in site visits, interviews, field trips to earthquake recovery sites and counter human trafficking organisations to explore the role of tourism in this complex setting. The program also includes an immersive homestay experience that provides participants with insight into local customs and everyday life.

Nepal 2027:
Resilience in Reflection – Lessons from Disaster Recovery in Nepal

Explore Nepal’s journey of resilience in the face of natural hazards and climate risks.


This 10-day immersive program explores disaster risk reduction (DRR) lessons from Nepal, 12 years after the 2015 earthquake. Participants will engage with local communities, experts, and policymakers to examine the successes and challenges in building resilience, recovery efforts, and future preparedness strategies in the face of ongoing risks.
